Queen Emma Cremium Lily aka Spider Lily aka
It is a magnificent perennial that makes a great addition to your landscape. Cranium usually blooms in summer and produces a beautiful spider-shaped lily-type flower. They can get to 6 feet tall in their happy place so put in an area that can accommodate its height and width. Likes a sun-to-part shade location in the landscape with well-draining soil. Blooms are short-lived and have sweet fragrances. Use it in a mass planting bed, or an accent plant. Plant under your large palms for that pop or the tropics. Cold hardy zone 9. Said to be drought tolerant once established but I believe like most plants prefers a regular watering schedule. Said to be moderately tolerant of salt spray so will work well in our coastal landscapes. Said to live in extremely dry humid areas. Sounds like a winner! Said to be extremely toxic to pets, people, and livestock so plant in an area that is not accessible to your little munchers. Produces a beautiful and fragrant flower. A great low-maintenance plant for snowbirds and those of you who want a low-maintenance landscape. Use it as an accent plant or in a mass planting bed. Put it in your rock garden area for color and bloom. Mixes well with your Agave. Use in under your tall palm trees! Wherever you choose you will add that pop of the tropics. Fertilizer is not a requirement but will help the health of your plant and help to produce more flowers. Use a good well-balanced slow-release fertilizer in the early spring. When growing in containers you can use a liquid at half strength. Remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application.
