Alocasia Yellow Stem

A beautiful upright growing elephant ear.  One of the most impressive elephant ear varieties. It will not be unnoticed in your landscape or inside your home.  Eyecatching tropical foliage with textured leaves that are deep green.  It has a thick leathery leaf that develops yellow veins.  Can reach 10 feet tall in its happy place put in an area that will accommodate its growth.  Alocasia are toxic to pets and livestock so put them in an area not accessible to your little munchers.  They like a regular watering schedule but a well-draining soil.  Likes lots of humidity so loves our hot summer days in a shady spot.  Prefers bright indirect light.  When growing indoors will filter those toxins and harmful chemicals from the air.  They say plants tend to reduce stress!  Fertilize in the spring, summer, and fall with a good granular slow-release fertilizer.  Remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application.
