Adonidia Palm aka Christmas Palm

This means spent fronds fall off all by themselves. What a low-maintenanceplus! Looks like a miniature Royal palm with its beautiful green crown shaft, gray trunk, and long beautiful full fronds. Single trunk specimens work almost anywhere in your landscape. Multi-trucks are the most popular. They won't grow too large or too fast. They make a great foundation or focal point in a small tropical garden. They make an elegant statement when mature. Cold hardy in zone 9B with protection. They don't like cold wind or frost. So plant in an area protected from both or cover during our brief cold snaps. Moderately salt-tolerant and usually not affected by salt spray. They are said to be deer-resistant. Fairly drought tolerant but they prefer a regular watering schedule. Fertilize with slow-release granular palm fertilizer during spring, summer, and fall. Keep your palm happy and healthy.
